Recently, the China Association of Inventions announced the review results of the 2026 Invention and Entrepreneurship Award Person Award, Achievement Award, and Innovation Award. As the first completing institution, NJCIT, together with Southeast University and Skywell New Energy Vehicle Group Co., Ltd., declared the research achievement R&D and Application of Key Technologies for Wire-Controlled Chassis of Special-Purpose Vehicles, which has won the second prize of the Innovation Award of the Invention and Entrepreneurship Award.

Focusing on industry challenges such as the scattered core technical architecture and blurred safety boundaries of the wire-controlled chassis of special-purpose vehicles, this achievement, through joint efforts between the university and enterprises, has built a fully independent hardware and software R&D system covering “component design–chassis integration-whole-vehicle control” and has systematically tackled key technologies for high-performance wire-controlled chassis for special-purpose vehicles. The project team has pioneered a wire-controlled steering control solution based on the integration of model-free adaptive tracking and reinforcement learning, invented a digital twin–optimization closed-loop braking control system, and proposed a cross-domain integrated electrical/electronic architecture and a redundancy arbitration mechanism for multi-core controllers, achieving remarkable innovative results. According to the appraisal of the Jiangsu Society of Mechanical Engineers, the overall technology of this achievement is at a leading level in China.

The China Association of Inventions was founded in Beijing in 1985 as a national industry-based, non-profit social organization dedicated to promoting the deep integration of scientific and technological innovation with economic and social development. The Invention and Entrepreneurship Innovation Award was established in 2005 by the China Association of Inventions with the approval of the Ministry of Science and Technology and is the first national award that takes inventors as the evaluation target, as well as the first national comprehensive science and technology award that takes the industrialization of invention achievements as the core evaluation indicator, with the selection process supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, the National Intellectual Property Administration and other ministries and commissions. The Achievement Award aims to commend individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions in technology research and development, technological innovation, achievement promotion and industrialization; the achievements participating in the evaluation must be advanced and innovative, and must have already generated significant economic or social benefits.

In recent years, the School of Intelligent Transportation has focused on the three-electric system of new energy vehicle technology and intelligent connected vehicle technology, and has continuously deepened reforms in professional teaching and tackled key problems in science and technology. This award-winning achievement is another important breakthrough for the School of Intelligent Transportation following its Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Innovation from the Jiangsu Society of Mechanical Engineers in 2025. The School of Intelligent Transportation will take this as an opportunity to further strengthen research on disciplinary technologies, feed back frontline technological achievements into education and teaching, continuously improve the quality of professional talent cultivation, and deliver more high-caliber technical and skilled personnel for the industry.
