NJCIT Successfully Hosts the IoT Application and Development Event of 2024 Jiangsu Vocational Students Skills Competition

From January 4 to 8, 2024, the Bank of China Cup IoT Application and Development Event of 2024 Jiangsu Vocational Students Skills Competition was successfully held at Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology. The competition was co-sponsored by 16 departments including Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, the Industry and Information Technology Department of Jiangsu and Jiangsu Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, and undertaken by Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology. The competition attracted a total of 126 contestants from 38 student teams and 25 teacher teams in the province.

The competition is divided into student groups and teacher groups. The content of the competition is in line with that of the 2023 National Competition, covering the selection & installation module of IoT equipment and the development and debugging module of IoT application. It mainly examines contestants' comprehensive skills and outstanding adaptability to IoT technology applications. During the competition, all players were calm and worked hard, showing high professional skills and qualities. They showed their level, style and harmony. 

During the competition, Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology organized all participating team leaders to conduct on-site observation, carried out exhibitions of teaching equipment and resources for cooperative enterprises and keynote lectures, built a mutual exchange platform for schools and enterprises, strengthened the virtuous cycle of promoting teaching, learning, reform and construction through competition, applied more and better resources to the construction and teaching practice process of IoT major in higher vocational colleges, facilitated skill teaching and training, and improved the quality of talent cultivation. In order to ensure the successful holding of this competition, Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology set up an event preparation and execution committee and a work leading group to strengthen overall planning and coordination. It also set up a competition team, reception team, security team and publicity team with clear division of responsibilities, and made every effort to provide various service guarantees. Extensive publicity and reports were carried out to create a good competition atmosphere. As a major institutional design and innovation of China's vocational education, the competition has deepened the reform of teachers, teaching materials and teaching methods in the vocational education, promoted the integration of industry and education and school-enterprise cooperation, promoted the combination of talent training and industrial development, expanded exchanges and cooperation in vocational education, and enhanced the influence and attraction of vocational education. As a stage for higher vocational college students to show their skills, a platform for learning and exchanges and an exhibition stand for showing teaching achievements, the competition has become an important focus of promoting the reform and development of China's vocational education. It has increasingly highlighted its leading role in running high-quality vocational colleges with distinctive features, encouraging young students to become talented with skills and serve the country with skills.
