NJCIT Successfully Hosts the Convergent Media Content Planning and Production Event of the 2024 Jiangsu Vocational Students Skills Competition

From January 8 to 10, 2024, the Bank of China Cup Convergent Media Content Planning and Production Event of the 2024 Jiangsu Vocational Students Skills Competition was successfully held at Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology. The competition was co-sponsored by 16 departments including Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, the Industry and Information Technology Department of Jiangsu and Jiangsu Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, and undertaken by Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology. The event attracted 39 student teams with a total of 117 participants from across the province. 

The content of this competition event aligned with the 2023 National Competition and consisted of two parts: theory and practice. The theoretical part focused on the knowledge, technical standards, and norms of the convergent media industry. The practical part included three modules: graphic and text news planning and production, short video planning and production, and H5 page planning and production. The competition comprehensively assessed the participants' abilities in news planning, editing, and production of various media. Throughout the competition, all participants remained calm, exerted great efforts, and demonstrated high levels of professional skills and vocational competence. During the competition, Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology provided on-site observation opportunities for the participating teams. At the announcement of results, through analyzing the competition questions, analyzing the scores of each module, and commenting outstanding works, NJCIT aimed to promote professional development, teaching reform, and the improvement of talent training quality, following the principles of using competitions to promote teaching, learning, reform, and construction. 

To ensure the successful completion of the event, Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology established an executive committee and a work leading group for the preparation and execution of the event, and subdivided them into various teams such as reception, security, publicity, medical assistance, and power supply, among others. Every effort was made to ensure the smooth progress of all aspects of the competition. Vocational skills competitions not only serve as an important platform to showcase the teaching achievements and skill levels of vocational schools, enhance the appeal of vocational education, but also fully demonstrate the achievements of vocational education reform and development, highlight the charisma of vocational school teachers and students, foster societal concern and support for vocational education development, promote the integration of vocational colleges with industry enterprises, and better serve China's economic construction and social development.
