Our College's Short Video on Assisting Farmers, Was Selected for the Ministry of Education's "Joining Hands for Rural Revitalization" Typical Case Exhibition

To thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC and its plenary sessions, to earnestly study and comprehend General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on education and key instructions on building a learning society, to fully implement the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council on comprehensively advancing rural revitalization, to further promote the role of vocational and adult education in supporting the rural revitalization strategy, to actively use digital technology to tell compelling stories of serving rural revitalization, and to fully leverage the leading and exemplary role of typical cases, the Ministry of Education launched the third round of the Joining Hands for Rural Revitalization Typical Case Short Video Collection and Promotion Campaign (2025). The work Living Water Comes from the Source—The Secret to Assisting Farmers in the Thousand-Acre Lotus Pond, submitted by our college's School of Digital Business, was successfully selected for the national typical case exhibition list, fully demonstrating our college's practical achievements in leveraging its advantages in digital business to empower comprehensive rural revitalization with the strength of vocational education.

Focusing on the main battlefield of county-level rural revitalization and leveraging digital empowerment, this collection event highlighted replicable experiences and models formed by vocational and adult schools in industry-education integration and science and education for agricultural assistance. These were vividly presented through short videos, with a key focus on areas such as smart agriculture construction, digital rural governance, and new farmer cultivation. Our college's work, Living Water Comes from the Source—The Secret to Assisting Farmers in the Thousand-Acre Lotus Pond, focuses on the development challenges of the lotus root industry in Chendian Village, Longtan Sub-district, Qixia District, Nanjing. It vividly documents the Three News practical path for assisting farmers explored by teachers and students of the School of Digital Business: Nurturing new farmers, empowering new farming activities, and fostering new agriculture. To address the local lotus farmers' challenges of traditional offline sales and narrow distribution channels, the teacher-student team went to the front lines of the lotus ponds to learn about lotus root cultivation and sorting from the farmers and deeply explore the stories behind the local agricultural products, innovatively create a live-streaming model from the fields and move the studio into the thousand-acre lotus pond to intuitively showcase the entire process of lotus roots from the field to the table, and build an e-commerce account matrix to open up online production and sales channels.

The selection of this case for the national typical exhibition by the Ministry of Education is a full affirmation of our college's work in industry-education integration and science and education for agricultural assistance by the Ministry of Education and China Education Television. In the future, the college will continue to provide high-quality vocational education services to assist farmers, cultivate more young new farmers who understand technology and love the countryside, and use the digital technology to irrigate the fertile rural soil, contributing the strength of NJCIT's vocational education to the comprehensive advancement of rural revitalization.
