From August 2 to 5, guided by the Teaching Steering Committee for Informatization of Vocational Colleges under the Ministry of Education, the special workshop for the first batch of AI seed teachers from western universities, jointly hosted by NJCIT, Yili Vocational and Technical College, and Xinjiang Agricultural Vocational and Technical University, concluded at Yili Vocational and Technical College in Xinjiang. Themed East and West Join Hands to Empower Teachers with Intelligence, this workshop is a core implementation project of the AI Vocational Education East-West Paired Assistance and Collaboration Program. It attracted over 240 key teachers from 23 vocational colleges in western provinces and regions such as Xinjiang and Qinghai to participate synchronously online and offline, focusing on systematic special training in cutting-edge fields like intelligent agent development, on-device AI applications, and AIGC generative technology.

Wang Junming, Director of the Teaching Steering Committee for Informatization of Vocational Colleges under the Ministry of Education, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Du Qingbo, Vice President of NJCIT, spoke on behalf of the host institution. Zhou Yu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Yili Vocational and Technical College, delivered a speech on behalf of the organizer. Wang Chunxian, a member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Yili Vocational and Technical College, presided over the event.
Director Wang Junming pointed out that this workshop has elevated the East-West vocational education collaboration from platform building to deepening teacher development and from resource output to capacity building. He described it as a pragmatic measure to narrow the development gap in vocational education between the eastern and western regions and to promote high-quality, balanced regional education, holding significant demonstrative and guiding importance.

Vice President Du Qingbo systematically shared NJCIT's exploratory achievements and practical experience in the fields of artificial intelligence program development, industry-education integration reform, and digital teaching innovation. He stated that NJCIT will continue to provide high-quality curriculum resources, core faculty, and advanced training platforms, constantly improving the long-term mechanism for East-West collaboration, and working with partner institutions in the west to create a benchmark model for targeted support in artificial intelligence vocational education. Co-organizing enterprises, including Jiangsu Hoperun Software Co., Ltd., provided exclusive training platforms and engineering technical support for this workshop. Enterprise representative Zhang Gentao attended the ceremony and expressed a vision for cooperation in deepening the government-university-enterprise collaborative education and co-building an industry-education integration ecosystem.

After the opening ceremony, all participants visited the Huawei ICT Industry-Education Integration Training Base and took a group photo. Subsequently, He Miao, Dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence at NJCIT, delivered a special keynote report titled Construction and Practice of General AI Courses in the Context of Large Models, officially kicking off the three-day artificial intelligence practical training. This training program featured core modules such as Intelligent Agent Development and Coze Practice, AI Coding Teaching Ability Enhancement, RAG Technology Application and Implementation, Intelligent Teaching Assistant Robot Development, and Harness Intelligent Agent Framework Platform Application Development. The teaching team adopted a three-dimensional teaching model that combined theoretical lectures, hands-on practice, and interactive discussions. This approach is designed to help participating teachers systematically master cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies and their integrated application in teaching, thereby effectively enhancing their practical teaching capabilities.

This workshop is a concrete action taken by NJCIT to thoroughly implement the national strategy for the digitalization of vocational education and to proactively serve the overall situation of coordinated regional development. Next, NJCIT will continue to leverage its professional characteristics and platform advantages, collaborate with all parties to deepen the effectiveness of the East-West collaboration, and fully unleash the radiating and leading effect of the seed teachers, injecting lasting momentum into the high-quality development of vocational education in the western region through the construction of a high-quality teaching workforce.
